Talking about personal matters can be challenging to do even when talking to someone that you understand well. That can make it feel harder when talking to a complete stranger.
It’s your therapist’s goal to assist you make progress in the locations that you’re having problem with. And in order for them to do that, they require you, to be sincere with them. This doesn’t mean that you need to pour out every detail of your life, but make sure that the information you are sharing is true.
