When talking to somebody that you know well, talking about personal matters can be hard to do even. When talking to a complete stranger, that can make it feel harder. If your therapist is beginning to touch on something that’s challenging for you, you might wish to withdraw on discussing it. It could be that it’s painful to think of or that you truly feel you do not understand the deeper answers that they’re looking for. If you only permit them in on half of the information, your progress will be prevented.
