When talking to somebody that you understand well, talking about individual matters can be hard to do even. When talking to a complete stranger, that can make it feel harder. If your therapist is starting to touch on something that’s challenging for you, you may want to back off on speaking about it. It could be that it’s painful to think of or that you genuinely feel you do not know the much deeper answers that they’re trying to find. If you just allow them in on half of the details, your progress will be prevented.
